Another successful community forum!

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended our second Compassionate Communities Public Forum on Monday, 24th July. Your presence and active participation made the event a tremendous success.

We want to express our appreciation to the Working Together Group and Quakers for sharing with us the inspirational work they do in the community. Their presentations were enlightening, and we believe that sharing such experiences enriches our collective knowledge.

During the forum, we had insightful discussions, and we are truly inspired by the great ideas and suggestions that were shared for moving our compassionate vision forward. Here are some key themes:

  1. What Can WE All Do?: The collective power of our community lies in our joint efforts. Your ideas on how we can all play a role in fostering compassionate communities’ initiatives within our neighborhoods were inspiring.
  2. Ensuring Capacity for Responsiveness: We acknowledge the importance of being responsive, and as a compassionate community, we must ensure that we have the capacity to support those in need effectively.
  3. Networking Among Ourselves: Building strong networks of support among individuals and organizations is vital. Your suggestions highlighted the significance of collaboration and connections within our community.
  4. Planning Ahead for Sustainability: To create lasting change, we must plan ahead and take steps now to ensure the sustainability of our compassionate initiatives. We particularly like this guide by Pallium Compassionate Communities to help us in our initiative.
